Why Indians use Copper pots/glasses for food and drinking Water

According to Ayurveda, water stored in a copper vessel helps in balancing all the 3 doshas in your body, (vata, pitta, and kupha)and it does so by positively charging the water. Water is supposed to be consumed after storing the in a copper vessel for at least 8-9 hours. If Copper vessel pot is put on the wooden square it charges the water.
