It’s a headache many times, what to do with the leftover food. Many times we have chapatis left from lunch or dinner. Many people don’t like cold chapatis or left chapatis of lunch or dinner as it doesn’t taste that good.
Masala poha from leftover chapati is a good option to stop food wastage. It is quick and very easy to make an Indian vegan dish, can be made in breakfast. The use of vegetables is up to choice.
Ingredients –
Leftover Chapati – 4
Tomato- 1
Green chilly- 1
Oil-2tbsp
Sugar-1tbsp
salt to taste
Red chilly powder- 1/2tbsp
Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
Hing-pinch
Cumin seeds-1tsp
Mustard seeds-1tsp
Lemon
Recipe-
- Crush Chapati in a grinder, into small parts but not too much.
- For tempering add oil in a pot and after heating add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and hing. One can add peanuts also.
- Add chopped tomato and green chilly.
- Add turmeric powder and saute for 3-4 minutes.
- Add crushed chapati and mix.
- Then add salt, sugar, and red pepper and spray some water if it looks dry.
- Keep on a stove for 2-3 minutes then serve.
