Peanut curd is the healthiest curd as it’s full of protein and fiber. In this recipe you can find out how to make peanut curd/vegan curd at home.
Peanut curd is prepared with peanut milk and is very good for health. This is a great vegan option for curd. This curd can be used to make Kadhi and vegan buttermilk too.
After going we switch to all non-dairy products and curd is one of the things we miss so much, especially in summer.
In the heat waves of summer this curd not only gives energy but it also helps in fighting with the heat. People having allergy from dairy can also try this recipe.
We make it daily now and prepare fresh milk at home for making curd. For the starters we use chilly crown or top of the green chilly. Chilly crown has bacteria which helps in setting the curd. Next time we can use old curd as starter.

1 cup peanut (raw, light colored )
Soak them in water for around 4-5hrs.
After soaking grind it. Add around 2 cups of water and grind. Then add 1/2 cup water and grind , repeat the process. Ratio of peanut and water will be around 1:5. Now take a big bowl and sieve peanut milk with a muslin cloth properly and squeeze.
Now boil milk on low flame. Heat until it starts boiling and stir 2 3 times so it doesn’t burn.
Now put aside to cool down.
Empty it in a glass bowl or clay bowl. Take 2-3 green chilly’s tops(crown) and put them in the bowl too (for small size bowl). This is full of bacteria which helps in setting the curd.
Now cover it will lid properly. And keep bowl at a place where temperature is mildly warm, to set curd. Keep for 7-8 hrs depending on temperature, some times it may take 9-10hrs. After that empty it a different bowl and it’s ready to eat.
To increase the taste add lemon juice, pink salt and roasted cumin seeds.
This looks exactly like dairy curd.
