Peanut milk is an excellent substitute for dairy in Indian cuisine. This is very cheap source of protein and fibre and something that’s readily available in any corner shop.

Giving up dairy can be tricky – especially when you live in a country that rises and gets through the day with tea and coffee. Many people are lactose intolerant too so can not have dairy. While going without is an option, you don’t have to give it up entirely – you can replace your dairy with plant milk.

India has plenty of non-dairy milk options, like cashew, almond, soy milk, walnut milk etc. which vegans and lactose intolerant can add in their diet.
